Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (17 March 1920 – 15 August 1975), the Father of the Nation, spent most of his life in politics outside state power. He struggled against colonial and undemocratic regimes—first against the British for nearly seven years, and later against Pakistan for 24 years to establish the economic, political and cultural rights- made him the champion of human rights and freedom for Bengalis.

Bangabandhu is the great hero of history, the founding father of the first ever Bengali nation state, the architect of Independence and sovereignty of a nation that was under the shackle of foreign rulers for centuries. For ascending the golden zenith of history, he had to withstand the ordeals of self-sacrifice and privation and confront oppression and persecution, including prison terms.

The rise of Sheikh Mujib shows an incredible story of a man who became the king of hearts of mass people as being one of them.
