At a workshop in Washington DC involving some Pulitzer winning journalists I raised the question if a confirmed non-writer (such as myself) can overcome all hurdles and go on to become a Pulitzer winner one day? I was extremely happy with their response that irrespective of the gift someone may or may not inherit, there is no net harm giving a try. Mere destination does not justify the journey!
Before deciding to bring this compendium, I in fact did a serious re-thinking at least couple of times if it would at all make sense: facts and figures are mostly outdated, writings of a teen-age university goer has its obvious drawbacks in style and content, subject matter is rather digressive; you list it down. Who would be interested to have a look at it and what for? I eventually realized that during this timeline monumental changes have occurred in this planet, particularly in the cyberspace. The stories told centering the bygone days may have some appeal to the present-day readers who love to monitor changes. A host of issues certainly retain contemporaneity and time and intelligence permitting I would love to hit my desktop for some form of follow up in the changed timeframe.
Until next time, this is what ‘Tryst’ I had with whoever newspapers pampered me!

There was a strong fascination for printed words. Out of this urge, an intermediate College kid submitted some works to the literary page of a daily newspaper. An outright rejection was obvious. While at the university corridor, there was a fresh start with the ‘Letters to the Editor’ section. The literary dreams were over by the time! One instance of printed magical words led to another and the outcome is this compilation. This may not qualify as ‘journalism’ in true sense as I never had the opportunity to involve myself in that noble profession full time for which I have a life long passion and admiration. However it was a journey endowed with dreams, excitements and celebrations on every single occasion a submission was finally cleared past the editorial. The same sense of celebration captivates me today when Kobi Prokashani decides to bring this in a book form.
